Applications Engineer

We are seeking an Applications Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing systems, processes, and workflow optimization. This role will focus on process improvement, tooling organization, and quality assurance, with the ability to train operators and collaborate with machinists to improve shop efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, process engineering, and organizational systems to enhance tool crib structure, process flow, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement best practices for manufacturing operations, including process flow and efficiency improvements.
  • Establish and improve quality assurance systems for product acceptance and inspection methods.
  • Provide technical training and support to machinists and operators as needed.
  • Analyze mechanical drawings and tolerances to ensure accuracy applicability of manufacturing methods.
  • Lead tool crib reorganization and workflow optimization to improve tool availability and reduce downtime.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams to enhance tooling strategies and machining efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, quality control, and operational best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in CNC machining or metal fabrication.
  • BS or BA in a related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience developing process flow improvements and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to assist in tool crib reconfiguration and shop workflow improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Job Type & Pay

  • Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
  • Pay Range: $85,000 – $110,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Hours & Schedule

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (8-hour shift)
  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week (plus overtime as needed)
