CNC Lathe Operator

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume CNC machine shop environment and be proficient in operating CNC lathes and mills with minimal supervision. The primary production focus is on wheels and wheel components manufactured from aluminum, along with other precision-machined components for the defense and space industries.

This role requires a self-motivated, focused, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. The CNC Operator will be responsible for loading and operating CNC machines, monitoring production, inspecting finished parts for quality control, and maintaining operational efficiency. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as the components produced must meet strict industry tolerances and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work orders.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands to program machines for the correct function.
  • Load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Conduct test runs to ensure machines produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations, making necessary adjustments to improve results.
  • Inspect and measure finished products, comparing them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure functionality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator.
  • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling, as well as precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
  • Good communication abilities.

Job Type & Pay:

  • Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
  • Pay Range: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Hours & Schedule:

  • Schedule: Day shift, Monday – Friday (8-hour shift)
  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
