Electrical Engineering Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to support machine installations, electrical system troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role requires both hands-on work on the shop floor and an understanding of electrical engineering principles to improve machine performance, support automation efforts, and ensure system reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and CNC machine controls while collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical components and systems on production machinery.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment, ensuring proper electrical connections and system integration.
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and CNC machine controls to optimize operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues, minimizing downtime and improving efficiency.
  • Work with maintenance and engineering teams to implement improvements and upgrades to electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and control diagrams to assist with repairs and modifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems, identifying potential failures before they occur.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with automation projects and process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
  • Document work performed, update technical manuals, and maintain accurate records of electrical system modifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial electrical role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, 480V 3-phase wiring, and control systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with CNC machine controls, AC/DC amplifiers, and servomotors.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of OSHA electrical safety standards and best practices.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.

Job Type & Pay

  • Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
  • Pay Range: $75,000 – $105,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Hours & Schedule

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (8-hour shift)
  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week (plus overtime as needed)
