H2MAX® cylinder powers the fuel cell system for Wiggins’ eBull Forklift

AST’s H2MAX cylinders have been chosen to power Wiggins’ new hydrogen-powered eBull forklift product – the first commercially available zero-emission, large capacity forklift. With capacities ranging from 30,000 to 70,000 lbs, the Wiggins eBull is fully electric, outperforms its diesel counterpart, and does so at a lower operating cost. The eBull forklift will carry close to 18kg of hydrogen.

H2MAX cylinders are the largest diameter Type 3 pressure vessels available in the market for hydrogen storage; available for various applications for zero-emission and sustainable mobility solutions.

The aluminum liner is forged and flow formed from a solid billet of 6061 aluminum and is seamless by design, making it superior for heat and impact tolerance for increased safety.

Additional key advantages of H2MAX cylinders include:

  • Faster and complete filling
  • Efficient and complete fills in extreme temperatures
  • Reduced fueling cost due to excellent heat dissipating of the aluminum
  • 100% usable storage volume; empties completely – no residual hydrogen

About Wiggins Lift Co.

Wiggins’ vehicles operate in some of the world’s busiest and most productive ports. Wiggins’ transition to hydrogen-electric is partly motivated by the target of ports in California to achieve net zero by 2030. Faced with a strained electrical grid, many ports find that hydrogen has emerged as an accessible, zero-emissions solution to assist port operations.  The Wiggins BEV eBulls have been working in California Ports for 3 years.

“With the hydrogen fuel approach and AST fuel storage support, Wiggins Hydrogen Fuel eBulls will shortly take some key ports to Zero Emission sooner than batteries alone.”, says Bruce Farber of Wiggins Lift Co.
