Production Planner

Position Overview
We are seeking a Production Planner to coordinate and maintain production schedules, work orders, and material flow within the manufacturing process. This role ensures that customer commitments are met by scheduling production efficiently while balancing resources and priorities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to optimizing workflow in a manufacturing environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue and manage work orders for customer and internal production needs.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery and efficient shop floor operations.
  • Establish policies and systems to streamline material flow through production.
  • Monitor and adjust production schedules based on changing demands and constraints.
  • Communicate plan changes to relevant teams across the organization.
  • Coordinate with department heads to obtain reliable commit dates for customer orders.
  • Ensure that all labor and material transactions on work orders are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
  • Review and validate work order transactions to maintain accuracy in production records.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and optimize resource allocation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred, but not required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Prior planning/scheduling experience is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze production data and anticipate scheduling conflicts.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset for problem-solving and process improvements.

Job Type & Pay

  • Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
  • Pay Range: $24.00 – $34.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Hours & Schedule

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (8-hour shift)
  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week (plus overtime as needed)
